Sometime around mid/2006 while I had some spare time, I spent it drawing a 2x123 E-series compatible body inspired by this unique piece:

I've shown the results to some friends and they liked it, so I posted about it in the CPF, the crowd spoke and I made it happen.

at this point I asked about which one to make, the votes were favorable to the second prototype, which was also my choice.

As a plus I offered to add tritium slots to the body, but after making the prototypes I discovered that the tritium slots left thin walls at the sides thus making that part of the body fragile, I apologized and that feature was removed from the final production units.
